Amazon's 'budget' tablet is seen as the first true challenger to the iPad due to the huge potential audience of the e-commerce giant, the success of the original Kindle and its appealing price point. Kindle users are avid readers so the Fire seems like the perfect fit for magazine enthusiasts.

MagazineCloner's Pocketmags Digital Newsstand has been available for Kindle Fire since the device's launch in the US in November 2011; allowing early-adopters to read their existing purchases on their new device. With the European launch of the Kindle Fire in Autumn 2012 ‘Newsstand’ became available on the device enabling the distribution of magazines on the device via ‘branded apps’. At launch, MagazineCloner.com powered more than 50% of all branded apps on the device, including apps for Immediate Media and Hello! Magazine.

After a slow start sales of magazines on the device saw a huge leap after the 2012 festive period as the affordable device proved an extremely popular gift at Christmas, with strong sales growth continuing into 2013.
